How We Made It


Global Press Journal, the flagship news site for Global Press, delivers reporting from some of the world’s most undercovered places to an international audience of changemakers. During my time at Global Press, I served in multiple roles including web editor, web designer, project manager, product manager, content manager, art director, and creative director — collaborating closely with our leadership, editorial, and production teams during a pivotal redesign that aligned the site with the organization's visual brand while prioritizing reader engagement and accessibility.

I also led the shift from relying on an external design and development team to fully internalizing those functions. This collaborative effort made possible multiple redesigns, transition in-house, and growth of the creative team from two to ten full-time employees plus a global network of producers, significantly strengthening our visual storytelling capacity. We saw a 40% increase in traffic in 2025 alone and as much as a 1500% increase in traffic in our target countries after undergoing a full redesign of our operating model in 2024.
